80,000 processors, 6 cores each, a supercomputer NOT based on x86!

Fujitsu has announced a new supercomputer which will be Sparc VIIIfx based (6 cores), and supposed to achieve 10 Petaflops (by 2012). The code name is "K" for "kei" which means "10E16" in Japanese. See http://news.google.com/news/search?q=10+Quadrillion+fujitsu&hl=en

Fujitsu has a long history as a designer and manufacturer of high performance computers, like the VPP-700, VPP-5000, etc.
